I've chatted to a few people about the 'blog thing' and opinion seems to be in favour. I was worried that no one would be interested, but have been told that whilst many won't be particularly interested, those who want to know more about my business, it's 'ethos' and my general way of operating, will be able to find out more by reading it.
I'm really looking forward to the next week of business, I'm in theory delivering to a new customer tomorrow who heard about Bib & Tucker via a friend of hers. It's fantastic to get recommendations from people - word of mouth is definately my best and most effective advert, I must remember to thank R for telling her friend about Bib & Tucker. I say in theory because we've had loads of snow forecast for the next day or so and I'm not sure I'll be driving anywhere! I'm also doing 2 cakes within the next week or so for customers who have ordered their children's cakes from me for the past few years. It's wonderful to have customers returning year after year for their cakes, because they know they'll get something tasty and that looks great too. I'm also hoping to get my new business cards ordered with my all new website details on there and I MUST get the latest newsletter written and distributed to all my existing customers...

Hi, my very first blog post, what am I going to write? Will anyone read it?!! Here goes .....
January was a crazy month for Bib & Tucker, following a very quiet December - so quiet I was really worried about the viability of my business. As always though Bib & Tucker has come good in the end and at a time when I really needed things to pick up, they did. I've gained many new customers this month, primarily from word of mouth recommendations from existing customers - they really are very loyal and I'm extremely grateful to them, without them there would be no Bib & Tucker that's for sure. I've also done some fab cakes, the imagination of some of my customers seems to be boundless. The one that stands out for me was the guy ontop of the world, he loves travelling and exploring new places and this cake was in honour of his 50th birthday, it was great to see his face when he caught sight of the cake, it was a picture! The cake is now on my cake gallery along with many of the others I have done over the years.
And so to February, I've got some good advertising coming out this month, so hopefully it will lead to even more new and happy customers. I'm going to see what this looks like on the site now, if it's rubbish I'll get rid of it and abandon it as a very bad idea ...
